Guild lines
First off, why do we market an actual physical disk of the images to customers? The reason is quite simple and it's called Chargebacks. By simply providing a link to a picture database we are providing more of a "service" than a "product. After much consultation with dozens of photographers and our online credit card authorization company we have learned that this can result in up to a 30 percent chargeback rate from customers who for whatever reason decide they don't wish to pay for the images after all. Of course this is "after" they've already received them.
By providing a "service" we have no recourse but to refund their money or it automatically gets taken from us. By provinding actual "physical or tangible property" we are protected under a variety of federal laws from the consumer. Successful chargebacks are reduced to under 1 percent.
Each photo shoot we display should contain no less than 10 pics and preferably no more than 20. Only photo shoots of decent quality will be shown. Photo shoot sets should contain anywhere from 60 to 250 images. It is a plus to include behind the scenes and "Ooops" pictures. The lower the set is priced the better it sells. Would you rather sell 100 set's at $6.95 or 6 set's at $24.95?
We have given a lot of thought into the best possible structure and layout for these image shoots. If you have any ideas please let us know. Our current template is that used on 4/29/06 and 5/13/06. Captions are not necessary but do sell better. Image size for displayed photo shoots should be as follows:
Each image to come in 2 sizes and all pictures will be resized by the photographer.
Actual vertical height is not that important as long as it is followed in every single image of that format.
Horizontal image format should be sized at 250 X 167? pixels wide/tall (labeled 01.jpg/etc) and 500 X 333? pixels wide/tall (labeled 01bg.jpg/etc).
Vertical image format should be sized at 150 X 225? pixels wide/tall. Same labeling as Horizontal formats.
All images should be copyrighted by the photographer along one edge of the image in a non-obtrusive manner. Any photographer placing a copyright and a large "SAMPLE" emboss or watermark diagonally across the front of each image distorting it will be summarily rejected.
Next is very important! Please view our photo shoots and use that format. Pic 1 at the top is always 500 pixels wide and by itself (that means nothing else on the same line. Each line after that must follow a simple rule. For horizontal format 2 photos and for vertical format 3 photos. Please structure your submissions to create an organized shoot by following these guild lines. Please just look at any of our photo shoots and the format should be self explanatory. If you have any questions Please Please email us before submission. Picture numbering is always from top to bottom, left to right. If your unsure what this means Please Please email us before submission. Our new template system uses this method and creating a new photo shoot page is simply a matter of a few minutes table manipulation after saving the photos in the right directory. If you do not follow the above directions then a 5 minute job turns into 2 hours and will be rejected.
Image size for picture sets of 60 to 250 will be a minimum size of 1024 X 768 for Horizontal format and 768 X 1024 for Vertical format. You can go larger if you wish but not smaller. Going smaller results in too many complaints. Preferable size as indicated by most customers is 2048 X 1536 or 1536 X 2048.
Funds will be disbursed at the end of each month. Dare Fashions will charge a service fee of $1.00 per set sold for materials, labor and CC fees.
If you have any questions at all please email us at manager@darefashions.com.
